First time poster. Hello!

My main goal is, really, to put some strength back into my arms and legs as well as getting rid of that slight roll on my belly. I've been doing some research on what I should do for an exercise regimen, and I have a question. Why do women "have" to do push-ups differently than men? I've tried doing them as I always knew, on my toes, and I was told to rest my weight on my knees. Is there really a big difference?
